Online Bereavement Counselling from Surrey

World Mental Health Day 2025. No shame. No weakness. Just being human.

Mental health is something that touches all of us, no matter where we live or who we are. Anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and emotional pain don’t discriminate, they are part of the human experience, not a sign of failure or weakness. It’s ok to struggle. It’s ok to ask for help. World Mental Health Day reminds us of that. Far from being a weakness, reaching out for support takes real courage and strength.

This year, the focus is mental health in humanitarian emergencies but many of us live through less visible emergencies: ongoing challenges like chronic illness, disability, discrimination, poverty, unsafe relationships, or the long-lasting effects of trauma. These things wear on us, especially when support is hard to find or hard to access. Maybe you’re just trying to get through the day, not sure how to name the feelings you have. Perhaps things feel off, stuck, or too much but you don’t have a clear reason or diagnosis. That’s enough. You don’t need to wait for a crisis to ask for help.

Counselling offers a safe space to be heard, without judgment or pressure to explain everything at once. It’s a chance to breathe, reflect and take small steps at your own pace. So today, and every day, just remember:
You are not alone.
There’s no shame in how you feel.
And there is help.

If you want to talk or just want to know what counselling might be like, I’m here to listen. You can also find trusted support on my resources page or download a free suicide safety plan, if things feel overwhelming. Whatever you’re carrying, you don’t have to carry it alone.
